About Browning Firearms and Ammunition

Browning’s story begins in 1805 with the birth of Jonathan Browning in Tennessee. He later moved west, setting up as a gunmaker in Nauvoo, Illinois, and eventually in Ogden, Utah.

His son, John Moses Browning, born in 1855, inherited his father's passion for firearms. In 1878, John designed and produced a superior single-shot rifle, leading to a partnership with Winchester Repeating Arms.

This partnership resulted in legendary firearms like the 1885 Winchester, Model 1886, and the iconic 1911 pistol.

By the early 1900s, John was licensing his designs to other gun makers, including groundbreaking fully automatic firearms and self-loading pistols.

He formed a significant relationship with Fabrique National Company of Belgium, making it the chief manufacturer for Browning Arms Company. John crossed the Atlantic 61 times before passing away at the FN factory in 1926.

Browning's legacy continues to thrive. The Browning Brand stands for "The Best There Is" in firearms and outdoor products, continually innovating and launching new products.

The Browning Buckmark logo, introduced in the 1970s, symbolizes the values John Browning held dear. Each decade brings unique contributions to Browning's legacy, with recent years being among the most successful in its history.

Today, Browning offers a wide range of products for outdoor enthusiasts, including the stewardship of both Browning and Winchester Repeating Arms brands.

This connection is a historical twist that would surely make John Browning proud. Browning is also a dominant force in social media, with a strong presence on Instagram, Twitter, and over 2.3 million Facebook followers.

Browning is headquartered in Morgan County, Utah, near Ogden, surrounded by beautiful mountains and outdoor activities.

The future looks bright for our legendary brand, continuing the tradition of innovation and excellence started by John Browning.
