About SCCY Firearms

Founded in 2003 by Joe Roebuck, a skilled tool-and-die maker and mechanical design engineer, SCCY Firearms (pronounced "sky") emerged with a clear mission: to produce high-quality, reliable, and affordable handguns for everyday Americans.

Headquartered in Daytona Beach, Florida, SCCY quickly gained recognition for its commitment to precision engineering, innovation, and accessibility in the firearms industry.

SCCY's dedication to American manufacturing is evident in its operations, where all firearms are produced in-house using state-of-the-art CNC machinery. This approach ensures consistent quality control and allows SCCY to offer a lifetime warranty on every handgun, a testament to the company's confidence in its products.

Notably, this warranty is transferable, providing peace of mind to both original owners and subsequent purchasers.

The company's product lineup includes the CPX and DVG series pistols, designed with compact frames, stainless steel slides, and ergonomic grips, making them ideal for concealed carry and personal protection.

The CPX series, featuring models like the CPX-1 and CPX-2, offers double-action-only (DAO) triggers and options with or without manual safeties, catering to diverse user preferences.

The DVG-1, SCCY's first striker-fired pistol, boasts a flat-faced trigger and is available with or without a red dot optic, providing versatility for modern shooters.

SCCY's commitment to innovation is further exemplified by the introduction of the Roebuck Quad-Lock system, a unique barrel lockup mechanism that enhances accuracy and reliability. This system, combined with the company's focus on user-friendly design and affordability, has positioned SCCY as a preferred choice for first-time gun buyers and seasoned firearm enthusiasts alike.

Despite facing challenges in recent years, including financial difficulties and operational setbacks, SCCY's legacy in the firearms community remains significant.

The company's emphasis on producing dependable, American-made handguns at accessible price points has left a lasting impact on the concealed carry market.

UPDATE: SCCY Closes Its Doors

SCCY Industries, a prominent manufacturer of affordable concealed-carry pistols, has officially ceased operations.

Despite its initial success and plans for expansion, including a proposed $22.5 million facility in Maryville, Tennessee, the company ultimately continued operations in Daytona Beach, Florida.

The company's closure was precipitated by several financial and legal challenges. In March 2025, the Volusia County Tax Office issued a "Pending Levy and Seizure" notice on SCCY's Daytona Beach factory due to unpaid tangible personal property taxes amounting to $249,932.38.

Additionally, SCCY faced lawsuits from the cities of Rochester and Buffalo in 2022, and its insurer later contended that the company's policy did not cover the associated legal costs.

These issues were settled earlier this year under undisclosed terms.

The company's assets, including CNC machines, injection molding equipment, lathes, and 3D printers, are scheduled for auction by Prestige Auction from June 24 to 26, 2025.

As of now, SCCY's website is currently inactive, and attempts to contact the company have been unsuccessful, with emails unreturned and phone calls going to voicemail.
